Samsung’s older flagships S10, S10 Plus, S10e get massive price cuts

Samsung launched its new flagship Galaxy series for 2020 at the Unpacked event this week. The phones will be coming to India in the coming weeks. As a direct result of the launch, Samsung has reduced the price of the previous generation flagships. Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and S10e have received permanent price cuts.

The company is offering a price-cut of up to 17,000 on 128GB RAM variants. The Galaxy S10e (128GB) is now priced at 47,900, compared to 55,900 when it was launched. The Galaxy S10 (128GB) will now cost 54,900. The device was priced at 71,000 during launch. The Galaxy S10+, which was last years most expensive flagship in this range, is receiving a massive cut of 17,100. The device was launched at a price of 79,000 and after the price cut, it is priced at 61,900.

Samsung is selling the 128GB variants of all three devices on their official website but other storage variants are also available on popular e-commerce websites including Amazon India and Flipkart.

The company has already started receiving pre-registrations for the new generation flagships. Samsung launched the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra on Tuesday and is expected to start selling the devices in India by first half of March. According to a report by IANS, the devices will start selling from March 8( International Women’s Day).

The new phones are also expected to be slightly more expensive than the outgoing flagships. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is expected to cross the 1 lakh mark. The price of the entire new range will begin at 70,000. The company also introduced a new Galaxy line-up with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip at the Unpacked event. The device is expect is to be priced between 1.10 lakh to 1.25 lakh. The IANS report suggests, pre-bookings for Galaxy Z Flip would start from February 21.

iOS Copy-Paste Data Vulnerable to Snooping by Other Apps: Researchers

When it comes to data privacy and security, Apple has rarely shied away from taking credit for its encryption and security. Even in the tech industry, analysts have time to time lauded the company for its relatively secure operating system when compared to its immediate competitors. But now an alleged flaw in its ecosystem, exposed by two researchers, may allow personal data in Apple’s iPad and iPhone devices to be intercepted. According to Talal Haj Bakry and Tommy Mysk, when a user copies any miscellaneous data, it gets stored on Apple’s general pasteboard (commonly known as clipboard). This data temporarily stored to the device’s memory can be accessed by all apps, thereby, risks revealing private information such as a user’s GPS coordinates, passwords and banking details. “iOS and iPad operating system apps have unrestricted access to the system-wide general pasteboard,” the duo noted in a post published on Monday.
